Track 1: Roots

Our story begins in the province of British Columbia, where a group of legacy growers and tech mavericks came up with the bright idea of growing high-tech weed in the heart of cannabis country (AKA the Kootenays). Our goal was to pair the best minds in cannabis with cutting edge agriculture technology in the pursuit of world class cannabis. After realizing that it would take us a few years to get our facility up and running, we started looking for other ways to participate in the industry. That’s when we found hemp.

Track 2: Wonderful Day

To our surprise, we learned that hemp and cannabis were the same plant. Hemp is just a subset of rules created by lawmakers to distinguish low-THC cannabis plants from high-THC plants. Seeing a growing demand for CBD products and knowing that they could be made from hemp, we decided to give it a shot. Our lack of hemp growing experience led us to focus our energies on finding great hemp farmers, managing quality, and selling their crops to larger producers. Within our first year, we were one of Canada’s largest suppliers of high-CBD hemp. Booya.

Track 3: Moving On

The pandemic changed everything. The market price for high-CBD hemp fell to the point where it made more sense for hemp farmers to work directly with the producers. At first, we were bummed. No biggie though. We learned a lot along the way, and it helped fund our dope cultivation facility. Wondering if there was still a home for us in the CBD industry, we couldn't help but notice that the price of CBD products had barely changed from the year before. Something wasn't adding up. When we looked into it, we figured out that the average CBD product only contained a few dollars' worth of CBD. Realizing that we had the means to make CBD affordable, we had a decision to make.
Disrupting the CBD market to benefit the consumer felt like one of those rare opportunities to make the world a better place while doing something you love. We also thought consumers deserved a brand that they could trust. Next stop was a check-in with our friends in retail to see what was on their CBD wish list. The feedback was pretty consistent: more CBD, full spectrum formulations, bring back the droppers, and above all, affordability.
Mid-pandemic, we found ourselves spending a lot of time in front of our computers listening to LoFi. The music's chill vibes reminded us a lot of the chill vibes we got from CBD, so we decided to dive a little deeper. What we found was an incredible culture built on the values of kindness and creativity. From classic YouTube channels, to reddit communities like /r/LofiHipHop, the vibe was immaculate. The more we discovered, the more we fell in love with the culture. We knew we had found our people.
After designing the products, building the supply chain, creating a brand, and listing our products, it was finally showtime. We launched the brand in August of 2021 and found a warm reception with the retail community. Within the first year, we had BC’s best-selling CBD oil and vape. Turns out our crazy strategy of offering quality products at affordable prices really resonated with folks. Looking to build on that success, we're in the process of expanding our product line and exploring new markets. At the heart of this effort though is our mission to make CBD accessible to everyone who wants and needs it. Above all, this is about CBD for all.
